How does a rotary vane vacuum pump operate?

The rotary vane vacuum pump generates centrifugal force and friction force by rotating the blades to extract gas and create a vacuum environment. The following is the operation process of the rotary vane vacuum pump:

Inhalation stage

When the rotary vane vacuum pump starts to operate, the motor drives the rotor and blades to rotate. The rotation of the rotor generates centrifugal force, causing the blades to lean against the inner wall of the pump body to form a seal. At the same time, the suction port inside the pump body opens, allowing gas to enter the pump body.

Compression stage

As the blades rotate, gas is brought into the sealing space between the blades and the pump body. The centrifugal force and frictional force between the blades and the pump body compress the gas. During the compression process, the gas is gradually pushed towards the outlet of the pump.

Discharge stage

The compressed gas is pushed to the outlet of the pump. During this process, the outlet valve inside the pump body opens, allowing gas to be discharged from the system. The lubrication system ensures reduced friction between the blades and the pump body, and provides the required lubricant.

Cooling and circulation

During operation, the rotary vane vacuum pump generates heat. In order to maintain the normal operating temperature of the pump, a cooling system, such as a fan or coolant circulation system, is usually installed to dissipate heat and maintain stable pump temperature.
